And Chips''

Watch out there's a thief about!

Keep an eye on your valuables.

Some money collection boxes have disappeared from the Deaf Community Centre. We do not know who took them. We will leave no money in the Centre overnight.

Please keep your own valuables with you.

Please remember to keep the outside door closed if there is no-one at reception.

Did you know that the community police have an office at the Vauxhall Centre?

We can ask Norfolk Police to come to the Deaf Centre to give a talk (with BSL interpreter) about home and personal security.

If you would be interested in this please let Julie know. If you would like them to talk about other things please tell us

Deaf History Group

The group will meet again on March 17th, 10-30 - 12.30. Please come if you are interested. They have found a photo Norwich Deaf Club in 1951. They do not know the names of everyone in the photo. Can you help? There is a big copy of the photo in the Deaf Community Centre with all the names we have so far.

Norfolk Fire Service will come and explain about fire safety and smoke alarms for deaf people. They will come to the Norwich Deaf Community Centre on 19 April at 11am. Sign language interpreter will be there. Please come and find out how to stay safe at home. Please tell Julie if you would like to come.

Our First Aid courses went very well and we were very pleased so many deaf people attended. 22 people now have their first aid certificate.

If you have any ideas about how to improve the next course, please let us know.

Skool Nite

Members of social club had a fab night on Saturday 13th Feb, dressing up as school girls and boys. They had a brilliant time, the buffet was very good and the games were fun. Three men dressed up as school girls, Peter Gosse, Dennis Kemble and Tom Brightwell, very brave of them, but they looked really good. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Many thanks to the Social Club committee to make the night a success.

2010 New Year Meal

32 members came together for a belated New Year meal at the Town House Restaurant on 30th January 2010. They enjoyed their meals there and had a good chat among themselves.  Thanks to Cym Cant for arranging this.

Next deaf meal out is on Friday  eve 30th April at Riverbank Chinese Buffet,  £13.99 each. If interested £10 deposit to Pam Brightwell or Julie Dwyer
