The Deaf Community Centre


The Deaf Centre is open Tuesday to Friday

There is always something happening at the Centre. The Talking Hands Cafe is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, and offers a comfy lounge where you can use the Internet, have a cup of coffee and catch up on the latest information.

What's On?

The Deaf Community Centre is open Tuesday's to Friday's, 10am to 3pm. Below are our regular events.

Tuesday, Tuesday Group every week 10am to 2.20pm

Wednesday, Wednesday Group every two weeks 10.30 to 2.30

Thursday, BSL Coffee Morning 10.00 to 12.00
Healthy Walk every two weeks

Friday, Knitting Group 10.00 till 12.00

Saturday, Social Club evening from 7pm on-wards

Norfolk Deaf Children's Society 10am to 1pm, last Saturday of every month.


The Deaf Centre also runs workshops, informational talks and demonstrations and courses. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for event updates.

All staff have good communication skills so drop in and see us.

Where Are We?

The Deaf Centre, Johnson Place, Norwich NR2 2SA

From the A11 follow signs into the City
From New market Road, at the end …..straight over at the lights towards the city…at the roundabout turn left, you will be on Chapel Field North. Keep in left hand lane, through pedestrian light crossings, almost to the end of the road, before the roundabout, turn left into Vauxhall Street (Vets on your left, flats on your right.

Almost immediately turn right into Johnson Place. The Vauxhall Centre is in front of you. The Deaf Centre is attached to the back of the Vauxhall centre.
